chapman-era is a mailing list for early Lotus enthusiasts, or actually for fans of 
any sports or racing cars, similar in spirit to the Lotus cars of the Chapman era.   

Enthusiasm for light, agile, rwd cars designed for performance is a requirement.  
Appreciation for bang-for-the-buck engineering is a common denominator.  Lotus 
ownership is optional.

chapman-era is a Majordomo based mailing list, administered as part of the 
autox.team.net hierarchy.

This is the mailing list where Lotus still means:

We appreciate your request to be added to the chapman-era mailing list. This is a 
relatively small group of people who are heavily interested in the early Lotus 
cars.  We are *not* an elitist group, but we do prefer to limit our membership to 
those with either a working technical knowledge of early Lotus cars and/or 
competition driving, or those with some related knowledge of similar cars. 

Although we are mainly comprised of a bunch of rabid enthusiasts for early 
Lotus and similar cars, we do not endorse or condone marque bigotry, and we 
definitely *avoid* marque bigotry amongst ourselves.

yourself, your car, and any other comments that you think are relevant as means 
of self-introduction, to our group.
